1 day. 1 rehearsal. countless props. 17 cast & crew. 6 pizzas. 16 takes. 1 continuous shot.

Last month, I was invited to join my good friends, Belt, in the creation of their newest music video.

"My Kinda Girl" is the latest single off their forthcoming album, Disquietude.

Shot at Paul Vincent Studios in Hoboken, we happily accepted the challenge to get all of these rapid transitions in place - in one shot - and I'm proud to reveal its success.

Everyone was in great spirits, and we had as much fun as it appears. And I made a lot of new friends born in the mid to late '80's.

Enjoy!

Also! I will be dancing with WOBBLE at the CD release party for Belt on April 22nd -
Bowery Electric, NYC

Last weekend, I was sweetly serenaded by the man of my 15 year-old dreams ... tantric yogi-bass-rockin'-Policeman-extraordinaire ...STING!
My friend Courtney was given 2 fancy amex tickets by her bosses and was generous enough to bring me along. Yaaaay rich bosses!

You guys, seriously. Seriously. My mouth was gaped for the first 10 minutes. Then I was just giggling for a while. Then I kinda calmed down .. then more giggling. Then a little crying. Then I mighta blacked out for a minute (check with Courtney). Then some really bad singing along*

Then I just enjoyed. I'll admit I had my doubts whether or not he could seamlessly climb that scale after all these years ... but he f'n nailed it. Those rasp-sexy chords have aged gorgeously.

There were a few details I wasn't too gushy to overlook -- I think he needed a few more back-up singers (or me, sober), a pedal steel for his country song (or not keep it in the set) and he took waaay too long to showcase his phenomenal keys player. But overall ...  a great performance.

We made our way down to the floor in time for the encores:
sigh...damn. is what I have to say about that view.

I tried to get some good pics, but, my feeble digital camera didn't mix well with the ever-shifting stage lights.
Ah well. You should go see for yourself one day anyway.

Happy Holidays! Toddler Style!

I stood proud witness to Maddie's first live Harp experience.  (Maddie is my friend Sarah's 2 year-old daughter - I'm here too -  the giggly camera lady)

My brother Jeremy sent this to me ---

It's a beautiful animation piece by Ryan Woodward --

From a dancer's perspective, I am blown away by the authenticity - especially the moments where he hinges backward and falls. The woman's movements are decidedly more jewelry box-ballerina, but, it works within the context of the relationship.
The theme song is fitting and very pretty --  but not necessary - I was more moved watching it in silence.

Looking forward to a great holiday -- the whole family will be gathering in Florida. This will be the first time all of the Eisenbergs and extended Eisenbergs will be united in I don't know how long. Cousins Maggie, Henry and Lily will finally all get to play together! A momentous occasion indeed!

I added some pics from the residency, but, just wanted to mention what an eye-opening week it was. I loved working with the students at SUNY Potsdam. It felt fantastic to be in front of a class so eager to learn. They were gracious, talented, attentive and curious -- and the faculty was just as warm and inspired as I remembered them. I can't tell you how nourishing an experience I've had.

Most importantly, it made me realize how much I get out of teaching - it's given me a new, fresh energy I want to keep with me.

As expected, Lori astounded the town with her performance as Isadora Duncan. Many stayed for the post-performance discussion -- we could have talked all night! Listening to feedback and how the work was interpreted by audience members was fascinating. Between the character, performance and dramatic (true) historical setting of the piece ..  there was so much to unravel and discover.
We've received an RFP from Lori Belilove, to (potentially) perform in an Isadora celebration next Spring -- will keep you posted on performances here in NY and beyond.
